CME offers a thorough grit-blasting service which is required prior to applying surface coatings, such as ARC® Protective Coatings.

Grit-blasting allows for the smoothing, shaping and cleaning hard surfaces by forcing solid particles across that surface at high speeds; the effect is similar to that of using sandpaper, but provides a more even finish with no problems at corners or crannies. CME's plant currently uses silica sand as the abrasive material in our grit-blasting process, which is coated with resins to control the dust from the breaking sand.

We ensure that the materials used in the process are safe and non-harmful to the environment. All materials are rigorously checked for toxic substances prior to grit-blasting, and the process follows OSHA and NIOSH protective measures.
